Vanilla Sky Soundtrack/David Morley
Andrea Parker's and David Morley's track, 'Too Good to be Strange' appears in the movie, 'Vanilla Sky' Sadly the song is not featured on the soundtrack CD. David Morley is launching his website davidmorley.com this Autumn. Quatermass in Belgium are releasing some of his songs on a series called 'Personal settings'. [Preset 1>3 EP - 12" (QUA-12103)] Apparently 'Personal Settings 2' was released in July. Available on LP and CD [CD (QS 131 CD/QS 131 LP)]. It has several exclusive tracks by David along with some other artists. He's finishing off an album of material, possibly for Quatermass, and have an ambient electronic project coming up on his label. Read a Future music article with David.

New album in the works
I found this recent interview on the web. It sounds like Andrea is working on her new album and it will contain vocals again. The interview also makes it sound like the first rlease on her new Touchin' Bass label isn't out yet.

More on Touchin Bass
According to Andrea's booking agent(?), Touchin' Bass will be "Things will be very electro, bass and ghetto-tech"

Check out this new(old) DJ set of Andrea's from 26th february, 2001 at Absorb's Electro Chair (in conjunction with Groovetech.com)

According the track listing she spun several tracks from her Touchin' Bass label. I'm assuming these will be the first releases on that label; Andrea Parker feat DJ Assault & DJ Godfather - freaky bitches, DJ Panic - untitled, Andrea Parker - game over, Andrea Parker feat DJ Godfather - bounce that ass

I was doing more research apparently the first release on the label is indeed Andrea Parker feat DJ Assault & DJ Godfather - freaky bitches (TB001). I'm not sure why this DJ set was part of the electro chair since most of Andrea's set was hip hop!

August 9, 2001
Andrea will be playing live at the Monastery of Sound Festival in France. The event is Friday September 14 - Sunday the 16th.

June 21, 2001
According at recent interview with Andrea at Pink Noises, Andrea has several project in the works. She has a track called "Game Over" on a Fuel Records "Sound Off" compilation mixed by Tipper (April 30, OUT NOW) a Mira Calix remix for Warp (July 9), and coming soon her own label Touchin' Bass [is] the first release... Andrea Parker featuring DJ Godfather and DJ Assault... the Freaky Bitches EP with a DJ Godfather remix. I'm about to work on an Anthony Rother remix and De La Soul remix for King Britt, then She's doing an Electro, Miami Bass, and Ghetto Tech DJ compilation for Detroit label Intuit Solar. The next live show is with Bang On a Can for France.
[Thanks to Canti for pointing me to this interview]

DJ Andrea Parker opened up for Radiohead (yikes yes we know!) for the launch of their North America tour. this was becasue the scheduled band, The Beta Band were unable to secure visa in time for the tour. I'm unsure whether Andrea is opening for the entire tour

Andrea has remixed a track on MIRA CALIX's new EP "Prickle". it will be released on July 9th in the UK and July 10 in the US. The EP features 4 new tracks which pick up where the album "One On One" left off with Mira's tripped out piano melodies and earthy beats plus a superb remix by Andrea Parker of "Skin With Me".

"Andrea Parker will play a special, one-off set spanning all of her extensive musical output over two hours of original music, including new and un-released material. Having produced dark, brooding records such as Kiss My Arp (Mo' Wax), hard hitting tracks such as Ballbreaker and re-mixes for the likes of Depeche Mode and Steve Reich, Andrea's music spans electronica, techno, hip hop and classical music. Andrea will play tracks from her forthcoming five track mini-album The Dark Ages (out in late March on Quatermass). Andrea is also putting together her own label, Touchin' Bass, which will provide opportunities for artists, unsigned and well known, to be truly creative and feature an eclectic range of styles all with a strong bassline in common. Andrea has already had tracks from the likes of DJ Assault, DJ Godfather, Tipper, DMX Krew and DJ Panic.
For her set at the Scala Andrea will work closely with a VJ to fully incorporate visuals with the music. These will feature footage of the Finnish ballet (who commissioned a piece of dance to one of Andrea's tracks) plus excerpts of her work worldwide and images that have, and continue to influence her music."

Andrea will release her new ep "The Dark Ages" on Quartermass label in March 2001 (April 9th now apparently). I believe this is a sublabel of Sub Rosa records. It contains 5 new tracks, only 3 of which will appear on the 12" version Read the press release.
The press release said Andrea remixed Mira Calix. Does anyone know about this?
January 23, 2001
A recent Interview with Andrea in a freebie magazine from Toronto, Canada called TPHS (The people have spoken), Winter 2000 issue said that Andrea's "In two minds" track off her "Kiss my Arp" album is used in an upcoming NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) space documentary. Apparently "Sony Playstation has tapped into her talents" as well. The article didn't say anything further. If anyone knows anymore details about the Sony Playstation thing, please let me know. I will post this interview soon. [I believe this article is from a year ago, so the NASA documentary might have already been made]
